Magang sets to build Kazakhstan steelworks
Eastern China’s Ma’anshan Iron and Steel (Magang), China Metallurgical Corporation (MCC) and Kazakhstan’s Ferrum Corp. have signed a memorandum of understanding to build a 1 million tonnes/year integrated steelworks in the central Asian nation, Xinhua reports. The announcement followed a raft of deals signed during a visit by Kazakhstan’s prime minister Karim Masimov to Beijing, Kallanish notes.
