MMK sees H1 14 steel output increase y-on-y as finished product prices tumble
Russia’s Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has confirmed that it has increased crude steel output both quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year in its half-year 2014 trading update, seen by Kallanish. The company expects however to see slightly lower third quarter production and sales volumes due to seasonal slowdown in business activity in domestic markets and holidays in the middle east. Prices meanwhile have seen some erosion, MMK adds.
