Latvian steelmaker further pushes back restart to January
Latvian rebar producer Liepajas Metalurgs has again pushed back the restart of production, this time to January, according to local press reports. This is owing to delays in finalising the takeover of the insolvent producer by new owner, Ukrainian scrap merchant KVV.
The firm’s 680,000 tonnes/year capacity rebar will come on line first, followed by its 1.3 million t/y electric arc furnace meltshop later in the first quarter. It will therefore initially…
