Land Rover continues with steel bodies at new China plant
Jaguar Land Rover’s new 130,000 units/year plant in eastern China’s Jiangsu province, its first in the country, will produce its Evoque brand with a primarily steel body, the company confirms to Kallanish. However, the model includes significant amounts of aluminium and reports continue to suggest that aluminium could gain ground thanks to China’s tough pollution rules and promotion of electric vehicles, Kallanish notes.
