Korean steelmakers boost capex 18.6%
Thirty-six (36) South Korean steelmakers plan to spend KRW 4.15 trillion ($3.81 billion) on their facilities in 2015, 18.6% more than in 2014, according to data from the Korean Iron and Steel Association (Kosa). The figure suggests Posco is in a clear lead, accounting for most Korean steel investment, while Hyundai Steel and its affiliates come in second, Kallanish notes.
