KIOCL seeks iron ore mine leases after production plummets in last FY
KIOCL saw its capacity utilisation fall to 23% in the fiscal year through March 2015 as it produced 784,000 tonnes of iron ore pellets, according to company chairman and managing director Malay Chatterjee. This was down -54% year-on-year.
The 3.5 million tonnes/year capacity Indian pellet producer suffered from a lack of iron ore availability and falling pellet prices in local and international markets. Utilisation a year earlier was at 49%.
