India's Jindal only plans to keep Piombino's cold-rolling, say unions
Indian steelmaker Jindal is in talks with the Italian authorities to restart the cold-rolling mill at Piombino, local sources tell Kallanish. The Italian integrated producer in Livorno shuttered its blast furnace on 23 April, as a consequence of the slower steel market since the start of the financial crisis of 2008.
So far, Jindal is the only company to have made a serious bid for specialty longs producer, Lucchini Piombino, says a local trade union member.…
