JFE buys three years of Mechel coal

Japan’s JFE Steel has signed a supply agreement with Mechel for up to 1 million tonnes/year of metallurgical coal until August 2018, according to the Russian miner. The coal will be mainly coking coal concentrate from Mechel’s Yakutugol and Elga coal deposits, Kallanish notes.
