Mechels Izhstal upgrades furnace to increase output, lower energy costs
Russian steelmaker Mechel’s Izhstal plant has completed the planned renovation of an EAF used in the production of stainless and high grade steels, Kallanish learns from the company.
This will increase the productivity of the unit by 15% and decrease electricity consumption by -10% with the associated positive impact on the cost of steel produced, the steelmaker says.
