Italian tubes increases hold in July, German demand down
Smaller Italian re-rollers are following the price increases announced in June by Marcegaglia and Padana Tubi. This is backing the €30-40/tonne ($33-44/t) hike on old price lists on welded tubes and confirms it as a structural surge for July.
According to market sources interviewed by Kallanish, the current higher quotations for welded tubes should last in Italy until the end of July. Demand will then set the bar for September prices, sources suggest.
