Iron ore prices slide further on gloomy steel outlook
Seaborne iron ore prices fell further on Friday as the run of buying over the last week died away. Reports of the coming maintenance season, weak steelmaker earnings and temporary production stoppages in Hebei are all combining to paint a gloomy outlook for prices over the weeks to come. High levels of iron ore exports from Brazil and Australia are also depressing price sentiment.
