Iron ore deficit may not save prices: Macquarie
Low iron ore prices have driven a significant amount of iron ore mining and concentrating capacity out of business both in China and elsewhere. This is apparently pushing the market into deficit, according to the latest Macquarie report, monitored by Kallanish. However, high inventories at traders mean this is unlikely to be enough to support prices and destocking over the rest of the year is a significant risk to current prices levels, it warns.
