Iran-Kazakh steelworks JV set to break ground by April
Iran plans to build a 5 million tonnes/year capacity steelworks in the north-eastern province of Golestan in partnership with Kazakhstan, Kallanish learns from the Iranian Steel Producers' Association.
Construction of the first phase of the plant – with a 2m t/y capacity – will begin by the end of March. The Iranian state will have a 20% stake, while private investors will hold 51% and Kazakhstan 29%.
