Indonesian re-rollers request slab export duties
Indonesian plate producers PT Gunung Raja Paksi and PT Gunawan Dianjaya Steel have asked the government impose export taxes on the country’s semi-finished products, according to local media. Indonesia’s slab capacity is increasing, as is its finished flat steel demand, but the country still exports slab to re-rollers abroad, Kallanish notes.
