Turkish scrap drops sharply on fresh deal
Turkish imported scrap prices have recorded another sharp decline on a fresh booking.
A mill in western Turkey bought a UK-origin cargo comprising 9,500 tonnes of HMS 1&2 80:20 at $408/tonne and 14,000t of shredded at $419/t cfr Turkey on Tuesday. There was also a rumour of a US-origin scrap sale at $420/t cfr, but it is yet to be confirmed. This follows the previous deal concluded at $440/t cfr for HMS 1&2 80:20 from Sweden last week.
