Halfway along and another record year beckons for global crude steel output
The World Steel Association (Worldsteel) says that global crude steel output rose again year-on-year in June to 137 million tonnes. China produced 69.3mt or just over 50% of the world total. This leaves the global industry well on course for yet another record year of crude steel production, Kallanish notes.
