Greece could weigh on Japanese steel exports
One sector unhappy with the no vote in Greece’s referendum on Sunday will be Japanese steelmakers, who could see export volumes and profits fall as a result of the weakening euro, Kallanish notes.
Japan’s steel exports are already expected to fall around 5% year-on-year in the July-September quarter, according to a survey cited by the country’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Meti).
