Rates for scrapping ships plummet worldwide
Internationally, the volume of scrapped old ships fell by around one third in 2014 to 8.8 million deadweight tonnes, according to shipbroker Gibson. Pakistan was by far the biggest shipbreaker, but China overtook Bangladesh to become the second largest, Kallanish notes.
