Global crude steel year-on-year output rises again in July
The World Steel Association (Worldsteel) says that global crude steel output rose again year-on-year in July by 1.7% to 137 million tonnes, the same total as in June 2014. China produced 68.3mt, or just under 50% of the world total, up by 1.5% y-on-y.
In the EU28 total July crude steel production decreased by -2.0% y-on-y to 13.2mt although output in Germany increased y-on-y by 1.5% to reach 3.4mt. Monthly production fell y-on-y in Italy again by an estimate…
