Global car sales near all-time record, says LMC Automotive
Last month, sales of global light vehicles hit near-record rates of 87.6 million units/year (u/y) based on seasonally adjusted annualised rates of sales (SAAR), and are only slightly below the peaks of late last year, according to LMC Automotive, the forecasting division of the UK’s J.D. Power. These latest figures show China, the US and Canada were particularly strong, which helped offset weakness in Eastern Europe and South America.
