German tinplate recycling rate recovers to 93.7%
In 2013, Germany recycled 93.7% of its used tinplate, according to the latest study by the Gesellschaft für Verpackungsmarktforschung (GVM). Rates have stabilised at around 93%, with 2013 marking the eighth year in a row when rates have been over 90%, adds GVM.
At 499,300 tonnes, total tinplate consumption in Germany last year has dipped, compared to 503,000t in 2012, but is an increase on 492,300t in 2011.
