German carmaker turns to Korean steel
South Korea’s Posco has had its steel approved for use by Volkswagen’s German car plants and hopes to begin shipments from 2015. The company already supplies Volkswagen plants in Mexico, India and China, it adds.
Posco says it could ship some 50,000-70,000 tonnes/year of autosheet to Volkswagen in Germany, after it signs the supply agreement before the year-end.
