Fire sweeps NSSMC pipe plant on brink of closure
A fire swept through a pipemaking plant operated by Japan’s Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) near Tokyo on Monday. The incident may bring forward the closure of the site, which was scheduled for later this year, Kallanish notes.
