Egypt rejects call for rebar import duty, but mills remain hopeful
The Egyptian government has dismissed calls for an immediate imposition of an import duty on rebar, claiming there is insufficient evidence to show foreign product is doing damage to local producers. Steelmakers are, however, still hopeful a tariff will be implemented by year-end, various Egyptian market participants tell Kallanish.
