Czech finished steel output down, Slovak production up in January
Production of rolled steel products in the Czech Republic declined 6.7% year-on-year in January to 404,370 tonnes. Pipe output, however, rose 11% to 47,180t, Kallanish learns from the Steel Federation (HZ) of the Czech and Slovak Republics.
Czech output of continuously cast semi-products rose 6% that month to 446,360t, while pig iron production was up 3% to 370,200t. Sinter output surged 19% to 549,180t, but coke output dipped 1% to 157,520t.
