Chinese stainless output rises slightly in H1
Northern China’s Hebei Jinxi Iron and Steel (Jinxi) commissioned an expanded H-beam line on 28 July, says project contractor China Metallurgical Group (MCC). The privately-owned company is a leading producer of H-beams and is a significant exporter, Kallanish notes.
The 550x250 heavy beam rolling mill has added 400,000 tonnes/year of capacity to reach a new capability of 1.8 million t/y. The steelmaker has 11m t/y of crude steel capacity.
