Chinese steelmakers record pollution fine gets mixed response
Eastern China’s Jinan Iron and Steel (Jigang), part of Shandong Iron and Steel (Shangang), has received a record fine for pollution at one of its sinter plants this week. The action is seen as another warning shot across the bows of China’s polluting industries as its new environmental laws begin to take effect, Kallanish observes.
