Chinese manufacturing set to end 2014 in contraction: HSBC
China’s manufacturing sector is contracting in December on the back of a decline in domestic demand, according to the preliminary results of HSBC’s monthly survey. The HSBC flash China manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI) came in at 49.5, down from 50 in November.
Domestic new orders declined for the first time since April while production and prices continued their decline from last month, HSBC says.
