Presidential visit marks start of new Central Asian gas pipeline construction
Chinese president Xi Jinping is expected to mark the beginning of construction of the Central Asia-China gas pipeline D in Tajikistan during his visit for a Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting over 11-12 September, Xinhua reports. The pipeline is the fourth in a series of natural gas pipelines which have helped China boost its steel welded pipe exports, Kallanish notes.
