China publishes draft Steel Industry Restructuring Policy
China’s plan for the steel industry over the next ten years is little changed from the goals it set in 2005 and intended to be completed by 2015, judging by reports of a draft plan released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The plan includes several targets that support policies coming into play this year, however, suggesting more progress may be made over the next five years, Kallanish notes.
