China-origin steel imports in Turkey double in May, driven by billet
Turkey’s steel imports from China jumped by 113% year-on-year to 153,000 tonnes in May due to aggressive pricing, the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD) says in a statement seen by Kallanish. In terms of value China-origin steel imports rose by only 2% to $124 million.
