China investigates GOES imports
China’s Ministry of Commerce (Mofcom) says it is initiating an investigation into imports of grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) from South Korea, Japan and the European Union. The move follows the EUs imposition of duties on Chinese GOES earlier this year, Kallanish notes.
If Mofcom finds imports of GOES have gained market share against Chinese producers and have been sold at unfair prices it could impose duties towards the end of this year.
