China-Vietnam steelworks JV commissioned
Lao Cai Cast Iron and Steel Plant officially commissioned its 500,000 tonnes/year iron and steelworks in Vietnam’s Northern Lao Cai province on 21 September, according to local media. The project is a joint venture between the Vietnam Steel Corporation, Lao Cai Mineral Joint Stock Company and China’s Kunming Iron and Steel Group (Kungang), and has reportedly taken three years to complete.
