China Steel to commission Indian plant by years end
Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation intends to commission a 200,000 tonne/year non-grain oriented electrical steel plant in the western Indian state of Gujarat by the end of the year, it confirms to Kallanish. The $236 million project is close to completion and trial production could begin in September.
The majority of output is to be sold in India but it reportedly could also consider exporting material to the Middle East and Europe.
