China-Australia FTA aborts coal levies

China has signed a memorandum of understanding on a free trade agreement (FTA) with key supplier Australia which will see a 3% import duty on coking coal removed immediately and a 6% duty on thermal coal within two years. The duties had been imposed only on 15 October.
