Bekaert completes acquisition of Turkish tyre cord plant
Belgian’s Bekaert says that it has successfully completed its acquisition of 100% of the shares of the former Pirelli steel cord plant in Izmit, Turkey.
The entity will be renamed Bekaert Kartepe Çelik Kord Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. The transaction completes a busy couple of days for wire producer following its successful acquisition on 5 February of the wire rope business of Australia’s Arrium group (see related article).
