Bayi demolishes blast furnaces but capacity problem remains

Bayi Iron and Steel (Bagang), a Baosteel subsidiary in far north western China’s Xinjiang province, has completed the demolition of two blast furnaces with a combined capacity of 1 million tonnes/year. This is in line with central government demands for closures, Kallanish notes.
