Baosteel preps first Zhanjiang blast furnace for launch
China’s Baosteel has begun preparing for launch the first blast furnace at its Zhanjiang steelworks in southern Guangdong province. The commissioning, due later in September, will mark the start of a new generation of Chinese coastal steelworks which will further cut the cost of the country’s exports, Kallanish notes.
