ArcelorMittal sells Kuzbass coal mines, as Kazakhstan supplies Kryvyi Rih instead
ArcelorMittal has sold its Kuzbass coal mines in Russia’s Siberia because they are no-longer needed to support the group’s steelmaking operations in Ukraine, the company tells Kallanish.
The assets include the coal mines of Berezovskaya and Pervomaskaya, which together produce 700,000 tonnes of coal a year. They are in Siberia’s Kemerovo region and have been sold to Russia’s National Fuel Company (NTK).
