ArcelorMittal said to be facing resistance to Q1 rise of 30/t on flats in Europe
ArcelorMittal’s announcement last week that it is raising first quarter flat products prices in Europe by €30/tonne is meeting with significant resistance, traders tell Kallanish. Already, the group’s €30/t target has been modified downwards in some countries, a source notes. Maybe the smaller customers, or those buying very small tonnages are less resistant, but generally, “no-one has accepted this,” he maintains.
