Alu giant Alcoa buys special steels and super-alloys maker, Firth Rixson
US aluminium giant, Alcoa will acquire Firth Rixson, based in Sheffield, which produces aerospace jet engine components. The UK company’s metals division also makes special steel, and super-alloy forged, wrought and cast products, including billet and bar at sites in Glossop and Ecclesfield.
