Algeria redefines shale gas drilling intentions after protests
Algerian Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal has said that shale gas drilling operations conducted by the nation's state-owned energy company, Sonatrach, in the southern desert were "experimental". They were part of a four-year study aimed at assessing the extent of Algeria’s shale gas reserves, Sellal added.
