AISI supports truck weight increase
The American Iron and Steel Institute is lending its support to a bill that would permit truckers to carry more weight per trip, it tells Kallanish.
The Safe, Flexible and Efficient Trucking Act would grant states the ability to license six-axle trucks to carry up to 91,000 pounds, up from the current 80,000 pound limit. The bill was introduced in the US House of Representatives by Representative Reid Ribble of Wisconsin.
