AISI says US electricity regulation will harm steel sector
The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) has complained to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that the latter’s proposed power plan could “hit the [US] steel industry hard”.
AISI president Thomas Gibson says “the EPA’s plan to further regulate electricity from power plants may lead to higher costs of electricity to large industrial customers like steel.”
