AISI and steel industry execs make case against imports to US Congress
In a strange twist of fate US imports of finished and semi-finished steel fell heavily month-on-month in February according to preliminary information released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) (see related article). The statistics were released just two days before three senior steel industry executives appeared before the US Congressional Steel Caucus to plead the case for firmer government action to be taken against steel imports.
