Italian seaborne steel imports increase in 2021
Imports of ferrous products into Italy increased substantially year-on-year in 2021. About 4.3 million tonnes of steel products, including pig iron and scrap, were received last year by Porto Marghera, the main port for steel shipments in northern Italy, Kallanish learns from sources close to the port authority.
In 2020, the year of the pandemic, the port received 3.1mt of steel products.
