Covid-19 to lower 2020 European stainless demand: SMR
The effects on the European stainless steel market of the coronavirus outbreak should be very significant, according to Austria-headquartered research and consultancy firm SMR.
The company calculates that in 2020, stainless steel demand in Europe should decline by -15% year-on-year. The strongest impact will be, as expected, during the second quarter, when demand will drop by almost -30%, Kallanish notes.
