19% of FAST Act funds available to states
Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump signed into law a 72-day stopgap funding bill to keep the federal government open which also extended the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act by the one-year. This measure allocated $13.6 billion in funds for US highway infrastructure projects, but currently, only 19% of funds can be approved to state Departments of Transportation (DOTs), Kallanish reports.
