For-hire truck tonnage ticks up in June
The American Trucking Association reports a 7.8% year-on-year increase in its June for-hire truck tonnage index, Kallanish reports.
The on-year increase represents a significant gain over the 3.9% average mark for 2017. Although the index dipped from 113.4 to 113 between May and June this year, the tonnage index has shown steady growth over the past 12 months which is consistent with an overall increase in all modes of domestic freight transportation.…
