World Bank calls for 450% increase in mineral production
Global production of graphite, lithium, and cobalt will need to increase significantly through 2050, Kallanish learns from a World Bank Group-produced report.
World Bank says that production must increase by 450% by 2050 “to meet demand from energy storage technologies.”
It adds that shortages of key minerals are likely, which “could impact the speed and scale at which certain technologies may be deployed globally.”
